STRONGER, SMARTER DEVICE BINDING FOR MODERN MOBILE SECURITY.
The foundation of mobile security is trust – but how do you confidently bind a user account to a mobile device in today’s privacy-restricted world? Traditional methods like cookies and device fingerprinting no longer work – they’re probabilistic, increasingly inaccurate, and heavily impacted by platform changes and privacy laws.
IDlayr replaces them with deterministic, MNO-centric, mobile device binding. Our approach uses IDlayr Secure SNA coupled with SIM verification, to establish a resilient, long-lived, binding between a user identity and their mobile device.
Why It Matters
Secure binding that holds - even as devices, networks, or apps change.
- Account Takeover protection
SIM Swap and number porting are top vectors for ATO - SIM-based device binding prevents these attacks.
- Improved MFA & Compliance
Acts as a strong possession factor & enhances compliance by tying identity to a verified telco source.
- Better UX
Reduces user friction during onboarding and login, without compromising security.
How it works
Device Binding by IDlayr uses IDlayr Secure SNA plus a real-time SIM check to ensure a chain of trust between a user’s digital identity and their mobile device.
Here’s how:
- A user logs in or registers on your mobile app or web platform.
- Their mobile number is passed to IDlayr via API.
- IDlayr Secure SNA is used to provide strong, real-time verification of the mobile number without using SMS, so the result can be trusted as a digital identifier for the user.
- Then a long-lived, stable mobile identifier is created - using the SIM card - and this completes the binding.
- The result: A strong binding that persists and protects.
Functional Highlights
- Strong Mobile Verification
IDlayr Secure SNA provides strong, real-time verification of the mobile number directly with the mobile network operator.
- Long-Lived Identifier
SIM based binding provides a long-lived, handset-independent identifier that persists even if the app is uninstalled or the device is reset.
- Stronger SIM Binding
SIM binding is resistant to SIM Swap, emulators and bots, and harder to spoof or clone than device fingerprints or software tokens.
